The RomantiX played at recently reopened Man of Kent pub in East Peckham, out on the riverside terrace, on a pleasant warm evening. There was a very good turn out with the seating area full when we arrived to set up.
Our slot was 8-10pm and we lined up with Neil on vocals/guitar, Dave Friend on lead guitar, Van Greg on synthesiser, Geoff Trickey on bass and Ivor Sewsanker on drums.
There was a very nice atmosphere with people eating and drinking out on the riverside terrace. The audience were appreciative and we got some dancing going. Interestingly enough, there were a group of young people from Peckham, London, who were camping at the nearby Hop Farm. As we are finding out, there’s a big following of 80s music among the younger generation. We are currently building up our set list, so the double encore we received was a bit of a challenge, but we made it! Job done!
